Score breakdown
How we read the terms: Basic plan: free virtual card, no monthly fee, 1% cashback (capped at $100 a month). 2% needs the paid Plus plan. FX is not scored because Tangem quotes 1% and 1.5% for different plan line-ups.
Not rated yet: verified criteria cover 55% of the weight, and we need 70% to give an overall score. How scores are calculated.

Overview
Tangem Pay is a Visa card program inside the Tangem Wallet app, provided by Paera LLC. Tangem’s product page names Rain as the issuer, while an earlier Tangem post named Third National. You top up a separate card balance with USDC or USDT (or US bank transfers), and Tangem says that balance is held in a smart-contract account you control.
Basic is free and pays 1% cashback; Plus costs $29.99 a month (waived with $4,500 monthly spend or $65,000 in Yield Mode) and pays 2%. A Prestige tier with 4% cashback is waitlist-only. Cashback is paid in USDC, and purchases under $30 or made in person in the EU don’t earn it.
We haven’t run a hands-on test of this card; this review is based on the issuer’s published documents linked on this page.

Is it worth it? Quick math
Entry tier, $1,000 a month of everyday spending in the card’s currency, first year, compared with a plain 2% cash-back card. Only the verified figures above are used.
- Cashback earned
- $120
- Card fees (issuance + 12 × monthly)
- $0
- Net value, year one
- $120
- Plain 2% cash-back card
- $240
At this spend, a plain 2% cash-back card earns $120 more. Higher tiers pay more, but may need staking, a balance or a paid plan — see the tiers above.
Cashback paid in a volatile token can be worth more or less when you sell it. FX and top-up fees are not included here.
